Winner – Extempo Monarch 2020
Congratulations to the Extempo Monarch for 2020 – Brian London. The finals were held tonight, Wed 19 Feb 2020 at the Queen’s Park Savannah. The runner up, Gypsy – 331 points, took home $100,000 and the winner, Brian London – 347 points, took home $200,000. Brian London was also the 2019 Extempo Monarch
The finalists were:

- Gypsy
- Black Sage
- Lingo
Gypsy and Lingo pulled number 1
Brian London and Black Sage pulled number 2
“The Party Boat Leakin” was the topic pulled for number 1. It started off very bland, however it soon heated up, talking about political parties and sinking ships. Lingo and Gypsy both kept it tight. In the end Gypsy was given the nod by the judges to move on to the final 2.
For the number 2 performers the topic pulled was “Spanish Women Taking Over Town”
Brian London sang about preferring Trinidadian women but Black Sage mainly took pot shots at Brian London. Brian London kept to the topic for three verses then came out in the last verse for Black Sage. That was enough for Brian London to make it to the last two.
War
The two finalists were:

- Mr. Winston “Gypsy” Peters
There was no topic as it was straight WAR for 6 verses.
They both started well but Brian London faltered in the second verse and Gypsy struck. Then Brian London asked about NCC money paying Gypsy, himself. Gypsy hit back that it is TUCO putting on this show. Brian London apologized and said that the money is going to his home town, Fyzabad.
In the last verse Gypsy said he will be taking the money to Mayaro. Brian London hit hard in the last verse about Gypsy stealing money and sending that money to Mayaro.
The night ended on a strong note with Gypsy indicating that Brian London is his family and he was proud of him. Both of them also dedicated their wins to Black Stalin! They also brought Patsy, Black Stalin’s wife on stage to thank him.
