CSM25 – THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF
THE CHUTNEY SOCA MONARCH
‘THE JOURNEY’
SATURDAY 8TH FEBRUARY 2020
On Saturday 8th February, 2020, the Chutney Soca Monarch will celebrate 25 years as a Carnival Calendar event. The Chutney Soca Monarch has had an interesting journey that began from very humble beginnings to grow to become one of the most extravagant productions in Trinidad & Tobago’s Carnival.
It is the only event that truly encapsulates what we represent as a people living in multi cultural Trinidad & Tobago.
Our theme for 2020 is ‘The Journey’. And what a ‘Journey’ it has been!
Crossing a generation, over the last 25 years, the Chutney Soca Monarch has not only established itself on the cultural calendar, but it has become one of the largest and most important events in Trinidad & Tobago’s Carnival.
On Friday 3rd January, the CSM25 will be launched at the newly opened Paprika Bistro at the Gulf City Shopping Complex in La Romaine.
Over the 25 years, we have had the support of some very special people, and in 2020, we would be recognizing persons through a special ‘Awards’ segment. 15 persons would be given the CSM ‘Recognition Award’ for their contribution over the last 25 years. The names of these 15 persons/entities will be announced at the launch of the 25th Anniversary show on Friday 3rd January.
The 25th Anniversary Celebration of the CSM will be gifted to the people of Trinidad & Tobago with both the Semi Final and Grand Final events being offered ‘Free’ to the public. Special VIP Cabanas and a VIP deck will also be available at an attractive cost.
CSM25 will also produce a social media short series called ‘Road to CSM25’. This will feature approximately (6) 5-8-minute video clips which will be promoted through all the social media platforms and will touch on the 25-year history of the event. The video clips will be funny and entertaining and should attract a large viewership.
The Chutney Soca Monarch continues to play a critical role in the development of the local Indo-Music industry, and is responsible for the phenomenal growth that has fueled this industry over the last 25 years.
