Road March Winner 2019: Official Results
TUCO announced today that the Road March Winner for 2019 is:
Famalay – Bunji Garlin, Machel Montano, Skinny Fabulous
The official Counts are
- Famalay 346 plays
- Savannah Grass 207 plays
The My Trini Lime Family has been running a poll for the last three weeks. For the first two weeks Famalay was the favorite with Savannah Grass, Pandemonium or Brave battling out below. In the end Pandemonium and Brave did not get any significant plays and Savannah Grass by Kes The Band surged in the last week as the favorite. The surge came too late and in the end Famalay is the official Road March for 2019. It is clear that Savannah Grass will be a favorite with Trinbagonians for many years to come.
On the Road we loved both tunes and the music for 2019 was clearly some of the best that we have heard developed in years.
This puts Machel Montano at 10 wins for Road March over the last 22 years, tied with Super Blue. This also gives Bunji Garlin his first win for Road March! Skinny Fabulous is the third person on the track, even though he is Vincentian he now has his first Road March win in Trinidad and Tobago.
