Road March 2019 – Will the DJs Play It?

UPDATE (Wed 6 March 2019 5:44 am) Unofficially it looks like Famalay has taken the Road March title for 2019. We are awaiting official results from NCC sometime today.

Something really strange happened in the last 2 weeks. There has been a definite shift in fetes and when talking to people about who will win Road March 2019. The tide has fully turned to “Savannah Grass” by Kes the band.
Up to last week Famalay was in the lead with Savannah Grass coming from behind. It is clear this week that people want to hear Savannah Grass to cross the judging points. However, it is unknown if DJs will change from Famalay at this stage.

The Power Team of Bunji, Machel and Skinny went all out and released the official video this week. They did marathon sessions jumping between Caribbean countries to produce the video. (I actually prefer the behind the scene clips on Instagram over the final video)
Some say Savannah Grass is too slow for the stage and others say there is a soca mafia that will not let Kes The Band win.
Party Republic asked their followers on Facebook if it was safe to say Famalay for Road March. Some of the commentators said “Savannah Grass”.
It IS safe to say after Kess tugged on our heart strings with his rendition on Kes Tuesday that he has won the people’s hearts. Kes The Band also released 2 Road Mixes this week. The question is will the DJs play it?
