The Original DeFosto has passed away.
The Original DeFosto, another of Trinidad and Tobago’s famous calypsonians and pan song composers, has died. He had been hospitalised in May of 2017 with kidney and high blood pressure complications and had only just recently performed at the funeral of the Mighty Shadow. He was 62 years old. DeFosto, was given the name of Winston Scarborough, after being found as an abandoned baby in Belmont by a woman from Tobago. He was taken to the Tacarigua Orphanage where his singing and writing talent was recognised and he was taught to read and write music. DeFosto will long remembered for his many hits, inclusive of winning panorama songs. Some of his hits were:
