La Locanda Italian Restaurant, Trinidad

In November 2003, I was having dinner with my friend, Dr. Roland Roy within his University of study. We were talking about my mom and the good food she always cooked for us in all the years of university. He asked “why don’t you bring your mom from Italy and let her open a little place for us and some close friends to eat?” Our restaurant “La Locanda” was born that night.

La Locanda is a term used where one can dine and stay as long as they want. We opened the first building in a 300sq ft area with 6 tables, 20 chairs along with 3 employees: My mom, Roland and I.

Today, thanks be to God, we have 10 branches in the Dominican Republic, 3 branches in Panama City, 1 branch in Trinidad and Tobago and 1 branch in Colombia.

We are currently in the process of opening a few more branches within the Dominican Republic, Panama, Colombia, Costa Rica and Puerto Rico.
