Lady Young Landslide 28 Feb 2018
There was a landslide on the Lady Young Road yesterday afternoon. A video is circulating on Whats App showing the area right after is occurred. It showed near the end of the video that one car was caught by the slippage. It has been stated on radio and social media that the car trapped in this video belongs to former MP of St Ann’s East, Joanne Thomas.
This morning the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service announced via twitter that the road remains closed until further notice.
The Lady Young Road,Morvant,will remain closed until further notice due to fresh land slippage and falling debris. Motorists are urged to avoid the area. Police are continuing to maintain a presence on site. Alternative routes should be used.

They also advise that the alternate route of St Francois Valley Road and Maryland Hill should NOT be used as motorists report that they are being robbed in that area.
(2)They are further advised to avoid the use of St Francois Valley Road and Maryland Hill as reports have reached Police of attempts to rob motorists.

The Police Service also issued a media release stating that the PBR is open from Abbatoir Road to Morvant Junction ONLY. They opened it on the day of the incident and it will also be open today, March 1 2018.
